Images that engage
It’s all well and good telling people what we do, but sometimes it’s easier to show them. We use photography to demonstrate what EvolveYou is all about.
Photography
The evolve you team
We have developed a distinct style to our photography to make sure we present our trainers with authenticity and warmth, whilst projecting the confident visual tone of our brand.

Trainer Profile & Guide Image
They should be looking at the camera and project a strong confident attitude. They can be smiling as we’re always warm and approachable.
Workouts
Here the trainers should not be looking at the camera. They should be in the moment – focused, strong and in control.

Photographic Styling
We want people to recognise our brand through our photography. We have several key elements that should feature in our photography which include colour, lighting, texture and depth.
styling
Colour
Our locations have a clear soft colour palette running through them linking them all together. Starting with off-white, into clays and light grey.
styling
Texture
To help provide variety across our environments, we use different floor and wall textures, such as flooring slabs, smooth concrete, cracking/discoloured surfaces.
styling
Lighting
Clever use of shadow and light helps to break up the clean background environments and creates an authentic ambience to each shot.
styling
Depth
We use extra walls and blocks to create depth. This adds subtle background interest and brings more variety to how light and shadows fall within the space.

Locations and environments
Every member of our community exercises in a different place, so we want to show our trainers working out in a range of environments.
At the gym
Look and feel
We want to create a cool, premium feel to the space that communicates strength and confidence. We use purpose-built corners and pillars to add depth with limited use of props to add authenticity.
Walls
Subtle clay and soft warm grey tones. Texture is added through natural concrete or cinder block material surfaces to add an industrial feel and to differentiate from the other locations/environments.
Depth
Always ensure there are at least 2-3 adjoining walls to create a three-dimensional space. The space created allows for the inclusion of props.
Lighting
Strong aerial light source to generate high contrast diagonal shadowing. This breaks up the large wall surfaces and contrasts with the trainers in each shot.
Flooring
Gym mat flooring with dark contrasting colour to the wall surfaces.
Props
Minimal use of gym equipment which could include a bench, dumbbells, plates, kettlebells etc.
At home
Look and feel
Modern and clean home interior style. Surfaces are broken up with simple lines created with skirting board or basic shelving to a single wall.
Walls
Off-white colouring in a clean, smooth painted finish.
Depth
Always ensure there are at least 2-3 adjoining walls to create a three-dimensional space. The space created allows for the inclusion of basic props such as a skirting board or furniture.
Lighting
Strong light source from large windows to generate high contrast diagonal shadowing. This breaks up the large wall surfaces and contrasts with the trainers in each shot.
Flooring
Pale slate/warm grey polished flooring to complement the overall image palette. Subtle polished concrete or marble texture adds contrast.
Props
Sparsely populated with a few select items which could include simple furniture items, plants, vases and books.
in the studio
Look and feel
Contemporary and clean space with a window as the main feature.
Walls
Off-white colouring in a clean, smooth painted finish.
Depth
Adjoining walls with large feature window. Strong light blasting through cuts out any outside view.
Flooring
Mid/dark slate/warm grey polished flooring to differentiate from the home location. Subtle texture adds contrast, again different to that used in the home environment.
Props
Very few props needed other than one or two such as a plant or small bench.

Groups
Our team is at the core of everything we do, and we have a series of shots that bring our inspirational trainers together. We follow the same styling and art direction approach as our other photography, making sure the team are always centre stage!
